It’s just sinking in with me that most Mondays, the first, second, and third place winners at the box office are new releases. That said, let’s jump in and talk about this weekend’s box office results. In first place was the Johnny Depp/Isla Fisher animated venture Rango. Rango earned $38 million this weekend.

Next up in second place was The Adjustment Bureau, which earned $20.9 million. In third place was Beastly, which stars Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer. Beastly pulled in $10 million over the weekend.

In fourth place was Hall Pass, sliding down a few spots from last weekend. This weekend, Hall Pass earned $9 million, bringing its cumulative earnings to $27 million.

Fifth place went to Disney’s Gnomeo & Juliet, which earned $6.9 million.

Six place goes to Unknown, which pulled $6.6 million in ticket sales, and seventh place goes to The King’s Speech, which earned $6.5 million.

Rounding out the top ten were Just Go With It, which earned $6.5 million and 8th place; I Am Number Four, which earned $5.7 million at 9th place; and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which earned $4.3 million at tenth place.
