As much as everyone grumbles about sequels and remakes, people regularly trek to the theatre to see the second, third, or even fourth+ installment of their favorite franchise, so can we really blame Hollywood for signing off on another Anchorman or Woman in Black? With that in mind, here are 3 more sequels coming to a theatre near you, including one your might swear is an April Fool's prank but isn't.

Dumb and Dumber Sequel Confirmed

Peter Farrelly recently announced that Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels have signed on for sequel to the 1994 hit, Dumb and Dumber.

“We’ve always wanted to do a sequel,” the director said. “Jeff always wanted to do it. We always wanted to do it. Jim was busy, but he called and said, ‘We’ve got to do this thing again’.”

Fox News reports that shooting will begin this Fall. The Farrelly brothers, Peter and Bob, will write and direct the film. For the record, the Farrellys had nothing to do with the 2003 prequel, Dumb and Dumber: When Harry Met Lloyd.

Twins to Spawn Triplets

Twins hit theatres in 1988, and the film’s original stars, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito, plan to return for a sequel called Triplets. Eddie Murphy will play the pair’s long-lost third brother, and Ivan Reitman will return as a producer. Universal Pictures confirmed the sequel news last week, though the film’s stars have apparently been considering the project for awhile. And no, it's not an April Fool's prank as many originally thought.

"I would love to do another Twins," Schwarzenegger told ComingSoon.net last year. "As a matter of fact, we’ve been talking about doing one and it’s called Triplets. I’d find somebody like Eddie Murphy or someone that people would say, 'How does that happen, medically speaking?' and, 'Physically, there’s no way!' Then, somehow, we would explain it. That would be hilarious."

Die Hard Sequel - A Good Day to Die Hard

In case you missed the memo, production is about to begin on the fifth installment of the Die Hard franchise, A Good Day to Die Hard. Bruce Willis will return as the all-but-invincible John McClane, while son Jack (Jai Courtney) will be along for the ride. The pair will travel to Moscow and battle a couple of villainous Russians, one of them a hot babe, of course. Perhaps the McClanes will leave with a mail order bride?

Which sequel are you most excited about?
