Sean McManus and Josh Welsh, co-presidents of Film Independent, tell StarCam at the LA Film Festival how excited they are to help put on the event but how much hard work it is also.

"It's a joy to be able to work on an event like this that really nourishes the film making community here in Los Angeles," says Sean. "It's a reminder to them of why they got into the business and come down to see films from new filmmakers, to see films from all over the world that otherwise they may not have a chance to see."

"Behind-the-scenes it is a huge amount of work, I will not lie, but it's what we love doing," says Josh. "A big part of our mission is to broaden the audience for independent film and for the art of film in general. This is year round planning; our programmers watched over 5,200 films to select the films for this year. We have about 200 films in the program from 30 different countries."
