Ryan Gosling, nearly everyone's favorite Hollywood dreamboat, is apparently a little atypical, in the sense that the actor allegedly refuses to have children before marriage. While many people these days do things a little "out of order" (that is, have kids, then get married), there's only one way to be for R.Gos, much to girlfriend Eva Mendes' chagrin.
Rumor has it that Mendes wants to have a child with Gosling, but Gosling struck down the idea. A source is quoted as saying, "Ryan believes in marital commitment."
But—and here's the plot twist—Mendes is supposedly against the idea of getting married.
"Eva doesn't support the institution of marriage. She's very outspoken about it," the source claims.
So maybe there's hope for all of us out there after all—some of us would marry that man in a heartbeat, right?
Still, though, it seems the clock isn't striking 12 for the couple just yet. The source also says that Mendes is "considering caving and actually proposing to Ryan on their one-year anniversary in September."
Now, we're not privy to the ways of celebrity life, but we have to guess that that last part is a little bit BS. Someone who is "very outspoken" about her supposed dislike of marriage is not likely to propose to her boyfriend just to have a child...and if she did, we'd have to wonder if he'd be into it, considering she'd be altering (pun intended?) her views drastically in order to do so.
