StarCam’s Jen Tapiero witnessed an interesting event at the Brand X premiere last night – Russell Brand fleeing the red carpet after spotting a reporter dressed as his ex wife!
Brand X With Russell Brand is a new FX comedy starring the eccentric English comedian. Jen Tapiero hoped to chat with Russell at the star-studded premiere, but her plans were wrecked after Brand caught a glimpse of two reporters standing beside her.
The reporters, La Coacha and a male friend, were dressed in elaborate Katy Perry and Russell Brand costumes (pictured below). The real Russell Brand didn’t appreciate the getups and stormed off the red carpet, never to return. For her part, La Coacha says she didn’t mean to cause offense and thinks Russell Brand is being a bit too sensitive. Perhaps Brand was preoccupied with Katy as her movie, Katy Perry: Part of Me, also premiered last night.
Russell Brand and Katy Perry married in October 2010, but the pair divorced 14 months later, citing irreconcilable differences.
