Omar Benson Miller of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation talked to StarCam's Aiden Simko at the GBK 2012 Oscar Gift Suite about why he hasn't been to one in a while.

"I took a little boycott on the gifting suites," he explained. "I was starting to feel very materialistic whorish, but this is great. GBK probably throws my favorite suites. I already got a sip of wine and a bottle so what am I mad at?"

Then Aiden asked him if he has any predictions for the Academy Awards.

"I predict that a lot of people will watch," he replied. "I'm really interested to see how this whole Sacha Baron Cohen thing plays out because this is becoming very funny." He was referring to the famous Borat actor taking on his new role as The Dictator and attending the awards show dressed as his character.

As far as films go, Omar appeared upset that some of his favorites didn't even get nominated.

"Of the films that I saw, there were quite a few that I was actually disappointed that weren't more accoladed," he admitted. "I think that the Academy tends to pat itself on the back for people who are already there and not open it up. I think that seems to be the nature of the beast. I don't know what we can do to change that."

He also talked about this being his third season on CSI which is in its tenth season overall, saying, "Coming from the film background, it's a different animal but it's been a great three years."

Which does he prefer – film or television?

"I just like to work. If I had my choice I'd probably be on a stage somewhere," he revealed. "I really enjoy the movies because they take you all over the world. If I had my druthers I'd be one of the top dogs in the movie biz but as it is now I'm just on a big, old TV show."

Fans of CSI know Omar as Walter Simmons so he talked about his character.

"My guy is a multi-faceted CSI, you might catch him in the lab analyzing evidence, doing blood work, or you might catch him wielding a gun on the crime scene stopping the bad guys," he described. "They kind of have me doing the chameleon thing. The writers have adjusted well to my strong suits."
