Iqbal Theba, better known as Principal Figgins in the hit musical TV series Glee, came out to the GbK 2012 Oscar Gift Suite and caught up with StarCam's Aiden Simko. He filled us in on what charity he's involved with and some of his favorites from Oscar season!
"I support the Edhi Foundation…It started in Karachi, Pakistan and is now all around the world and they do great, great work. They basically support anyone in need….There were women who had no idea what to do with their lives and they were really poor. They basically opened these schools where these women can go and learn a skill, like sewing, so they could be a seamstress or a chef or something. And also because of the fundraising, they have created the largest fleet of ambulances in the world in Pakistan; in a third-world country. So, if there is an accident on a street anywhere, you just call Edhi and they will send you an ambulance, which did not exist when I was back there like 25-30 years ago."
When Iqbal isn't filming episodes of Glee or helping out a charity, he enjoys a good movie just like the rest of us! This season, his favorite actresses were Viola Davis and Meryl Streep and his favorite movie was The Descendants.
