First, CBS redid Hawaii Five-0, and then ABC decided to reboot the classic hit Charlie’s Angels. TNT is also working on a remake of Dallas. Now it seems Bewitched will join the ranks of classic TV shows reimagined for a modern audience.

Reuters and TheWrap reports that CBS has ordered a script for a Bewitched reboot and that Marc Lawrence (Did You Hear About the Morgans, Miss Congeniality) will do the writing honors. Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher, the pair behind the 2005 Bewitched movie starring Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell, will also reportedly produce the new television series which is still in its very early stages.

Starring Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York (later Dick Sargent), Bewitched is the tale of a charming witch who settles down with a mortal husband and tries to live a magic-free life in suburban America. Bewitched ran on ABC from 1964 to 1972 and TV Guide named the series one the 50th Greatest TV Shows of All Time.

This movie/TV show reboot trend really is getting out of hand. What classic show will producers reboot next? The Brady Bunch? I Dream of Jeannie? I Love Lucy?
