She's said that she would be taking a break from her musical career, but that seems not to be the case, as Adele has been confirmed as the singer of the theme song for the upcoming James Bond film, Skyfall. Rumors started swirling about what she was recording when she was spotted exiting the Abbey Road Studios recently, where the soundtrack is being recorded.

It will be Adele's first single since her last album, 21, which will supposedly be rereleased to include the Bond theme. She hinted during an interview with Jonathan Ross earlier this year that she was going to be singing the song. When asked what she had coming up, she replied, "Well, this is actually a theme, what I've got to do. Wow, that's really giving something away."

Casino Royale theme composer Chris Cornell also hinted, saying that Adele would be perfect for the job. She'll have a lot to follow, with previous singers including Shirley Bassey, Louis Armstrong, Tom Jones, and Alicia Keys.

Skyfall is set to be released on October 26th, and will mark the 50th anniversary of the Bond franchise.

Skyfall isn't the only thing Adele is working on—she's set to give birth sometime this month. She announced her pregnancy earlier this year, several months after confirming she was in a relationship with Simon Konecki, who is also the father of her child.

Skyfall stars Daniel Craig as Bond, as well as Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem and Judi Dench. It is directed by Sam Mendes.
