When you’re the daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt it’s practically a given that you’ll follow in your famous parents’ footsteps. And that’s exactly what Vivienne Jolie-Pitt is headed. Disney today confirmed that the four-year-old will play the child version of Princess Aurora in the upcoming film Maleficent. Mommy Angelina will play the title character.
Aurora, for those rusty on the Sleeping Beauty legend, draws the ire of Maleficent who places a curse on beautiful young princess. The upcoming Disney film will explore Maleficent’s back story, much in the same way Wicked explored the origins of the Wicked Witch of the West.
Vivienne isn’t the first of the Jolie-Pitt brood to appear on the big screen. Shiloh, now 6, played Pitt and Cate Blanchett’s daughter in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button when she was just 10 months old.
Maleficent is set to hit theaters in March 2014. Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, and Lesley Manvill will also star in the live action fairy tale.
