Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes may be boycotting the Oscars this year.
The reason is not save-the-world related. It is not religious based or because the pair were snubbed.
No, the Cruise-Holmes duo may be boycotting to avoid Anne Hathaway.
Anne Hathaway will be cohosting the ceremony this year with James Franco, and the two will be the youngest Academy Award hosts ever.
So what’s the deal?
Hathaway allegedly upset Holmes after she impersonated her in a Saturday Night Live sketch back in November. Cruise, Holmes, and Hathaway used to be friends and the couple came to her aid when she split from her boyfriend at the time, Raffaello Follieri.
Holmes and Cruise felt that it was wrong for Hathaway to make fun of her on national television, especially with no warning.
It is yet to be confirmed if the actor/actress couple will in fact boycott the Oscars. I think, by now, the two should be able to take a joke, especially after all that has happened through the years with Cruise.
