Sunday night’s Academy of Country Music Awards left Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and many others feeling fantastic. There was one country star who received an insane amount of nominations but left the awards empty handed. If you missed the show, don’t worry. We’ve got the list of winners for you and the name of this unexpected celebrity who left without a single award.
The big winner of the evening was Taylor Swift who took the award for Entertainer of the Year. She took the stage with kind words for her fellow nominees and a heart-felt shout out to her special date that couldn’t make it to the show.
“Thank you so much to the fans who voted for this, I am so happy about this,” said Swift, who also received the award last year. “I want to say to my fellow nominees: I respect you so much. I love you.” Taylor also wished Kevin McGuire well in her speech. Kevin is an 18-year-old who is battling cancer. He was supposed to be with Taylor at the awards, but after a really hard week of chemotherapy and a 103-degree fever, he just couldn’t make it. The two shared a phone call before the show though and wished each other luck, which definitely paid off for the country singer.
Miranda Lambert was a major victor for the evening, taking home awards for Top Female Vocalist and Album of the Year for her fourth album, “Four the Record.” Her husband Blake Shelton won Top Male Vocalist as well! What a successful night for that couple!
Here’s the official breakdown of all the award winners:
Entertainer of the Year: Taylor Swift

Top Female Vocalist: Miranda Lambert
Top Vocal Group: Lady Antebellum
Top Vocal Duo: Thompson Square
Top New Artist: Scotty McCreery

While all of the artists who won were definitely talented and deserving, the surprising loss of the night was Kenny Chesney. He was nominated for nine of the 11 awards, but didn’t win a single one of them. Do you think he deserved a win or has country music moved past Chesney’s popular tunes?
