Just days away from the release of The Hunger Games movie comes some interesting information about the film’s leading lady, Jennifer Lawrence. She wasn’t discovered after starring in a school play or by going on random casting calls. A talent scout found her in a very unique and positively packed place.
Jennifer was 14 years old when she went on a vacation with her mom to New York City. They were visiting the Big Apple from Kentucky when something kind of bizarre happened. A talent scout stopped her in the street and simply asked to take a picture of her. This is where it all began for one of Hollywood’s hippest stars!
“It wasn’t creepy, he didn’t ask to take me anywhere, he just wanted to take a picture,” said Jennifer, who is now 21. “And then all these agencies started calling and then we just kind of went (to do cold readings) out of boredom…And then my poor mother, it was all I talked about, my obsession.”
She started out doing some commercial work, but it was 2010 when Jennifer booked her breakthrough role. Her performance in Winter’s Bone got her an Academy Award nomination! Now with The Hunger Games, which is expected to draw mega attention like Twilight and Harry Potter, getting ready to hit box offices; Jennifer’s career is about to take off big time!
