slash hollywood walk of fame

Slash now has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! The former lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses was thrilled by the honor.

"I've been a part of the Hollywood fabric for a long time and to actually be appreciated by the city of Hollywood is a huge, huge honor," Slash said at the star’s unveiling ceremony yesterday afternoon. "And so I want to thank everybody for this; it's unbelievable."

Slash’s star, fittingly located in front of the Hard Rock Café, is the 2,473rd star to appear on Hollywood’s celebrated Walk. A few of Slash’s pals attended the unveiling ceremony, including musician Myles Kennedy, Guns N' Roses band mate Steven Adler, and actor Charlie Sheen. Slash’s wife and two kids also attended. Sheen took the opportunity to poke fun at Guns N’ Roses front man Axl Rose.

"It’s quite fitting that Slash is getting a star on the very street Axl Rose will one day be sleeping on," he joked.

After the ceremony, Slash and Kennedy performed a few songs, including the Guns N’ Roses’ classic, “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” for the hundreds of fans gathered on Hollywood Boulevard.

Slash, 46, is perhaps best known for his role in Guns N’ Roses, though he also co-founded the rock supergroup Velvet Revolver. The celebrated musician, widely ranked as one of the best guitarists of all time, released a second solo album, Apocalyptic Love, in May.

Congratulations Slash!
