Today is a big day for Revolver Magazine. Not only are they going to be announcing the nominees and performers for the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards Show, but the “Golden Gods: The History of Heavy Metal” exhibit at the Grammy Museum will also be unveiled!

Some of rock music’s biggest icons, including Alice Cooper, Zakk Wylde and Sebastian Bach; Jonathan Davis (Korn); Vinnie Paul (Hellyeah, ex-Pantera, ex-Damageplan); rocker/wrestler Chris Jericho; critically acclaimed newcomers Black Veil Brides; Mike Portnoy (Adrenaline Mob, ex-Dream Theater); Vinnie Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell); James Michael (Sixx:A.M.); John Moyer (Disturbed); motocross rider Brian Deegan (The Metal Mulisha); Michael Starr (Steel Panther); Wendy Dio, widow of legendary artist Ronnie James Dio, will be coming out today for the big event.

This is the fourth year that the award ceremony will be held by the magazine. Revolver has been named the number one place to get maximum exposure as a hard-rock artist, so being nominated for a Golden God award is a major honor. The big news will come down this afternoon from the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
