When you think of "power", what comes to mind? Power of money? Power of love? Power of the people? Put your ideas down on paper and enter the T-Shirt Design Contest issued by Pete Wentz, formerly of Fall Out Boy. Wentz will pick his five favorite designs and turn them into tees that will be sold to benefit the charity Invisible Children. What is he looking for?
"Maybe it’s not the typical public perception of power… but I’m talking about the power that everyone has within them. To me what separates the top designs from all the rest is one where you can see that the person put their heart into it. You can see that they really believe in the grander idea," says Wentz.
Fans can submit designs now through February 29th at masscanvas.com and they can also comment and vote on other entries to make up the top 20. On March 22nd, Wentz will choose five winning designs, with the artists each receiving a $1,000 cash prize. The five winning tees will be printed in limited quantity, individually hand-numbered, and sold in support of the charitable cause.
Invisible Children uses the power of media to inspire young people to help end the longest running war in Africa. Since its inception in 2005, Invisible Children has been working tirelessly to improve the quality of life for northern Ugandans through the mediums of education, health care, and employment.
Other celebrities who have recently partnered with Mass Canvas include Stan Lee for the John Wayne Cancer Institute and My Chemical Romance for the Make A Wish Foundation.
