Twilight’s Nikki Reed and American Idol hopeful Paul McDonald are officially a couple, according to E! Online.
The two first met on when the Idol finalists attended the red carpet premiere of Red Riding Hood in March. Cameras were on the two as Reed told McDonald, “You’re amazing. I’m blushing, I should go” leaving him virtually speechless, with nothing to say but, “Wow, thank you.” They then hugged goodbye.
After Reed was out of ear shot, McDonald turned to the crew and asked, “Was she a famous actress or something? I’d hang out with her!”
Well it looks like he got his wish, as the two have been Skyping back and forth while Reed is off filming Breaking Dawn and McDonald is trying to win American Idol.
There have also been rumors floating around that Taylor Lautner has been Skyping with another Idol contestant, Lauren Alaina. However the rumor has been shot down, with a source telling E! that Lautner has only said hello to the contestants while Reed Skypes with her boyfriend.
This is the second official hookup to come out of the Idol house. The first is between Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart, both contestants on the show.
