Music legend and former Beatle Paul McCartney received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday afternoon. The 69-year-old musician reflected on The Beatles success and paid tribute to his band mates – John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

“Way back in history, in Liverpool when we were kids and we were listening to Buddy Holly and all the rock and roll greats, I would have never thought the day would come when I'd be getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” McCartney said at the unveiling ceremony. “That was an impossible thing to happen. But here we are today, and it’s happening. But I couldn't have done it without, certainly, three boys - so I want to say thanks to those guys, John, George, and Ringo.”

McCartney’s star is the 2,460th plaque to appear on Hollywood’s iconic walk. Hundreds of fans attended the ceremony outside of the Capitol Records building, as did McCartney’s wife Nancy and his son James.

McCartney will perform at the 54th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday. The former Beatle will also headline a musical tribute this June in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee.
