Are you looking for a beach getaway with a full staff on hand for your every whim? Look no further than the Hacienda Dorada. This lush hideaway is located on the coast of Costa Rica near Samara in Guanacaste. It is about 300 miles from the capital city of San Jose. Mel Gibson currently owns the property and has listed it on the market for a mere $35 million.
The property at one time provided the actor with all the privacy he could ask for until the beach was no longer private. These days he takes off there for a little time away and is followed by the paparazzi.
The 500 acre estate boosts a main house with seven bedrooms and two smaller two bed room homes with private pools. The property fronts the beach on the Nicoya Peninsula. It includes hundreds of acres of jungle and has a fulltime staff to look after the place.
Originally purchased in 2007 for $25.8 million, there was some speculation that the property was illegally registered the time Gibson purchased it. That has since been proven erroneous.
It is an ideal location for those who don’t mind a bit less privacy but still want to live in a beautiful tropical climate.
