Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Breckin Meyer

The Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood is the place to be March 31st since the stars of TNT's Franklin & Bash will be hosting the 33rd annual College Television Awards. Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer will host the gala and awards ceremony which recognizes excellence in video, digital and film production from college students. Also, the organization has named HBO as the winner of its Innovation in Television Award.

"The College Television Awards has become a premier industry event in Hollywood, paving the way for future innovators in the television community," says Norma Provencio Pichardod, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation executive director. "We couldn’t be more proud to share the evening with Mark-Paul, Breckin, and our friends at HBO."

Students from hundreds of colleges all around the country submit entries across 12 categories: Alternative, Animation, Children’s, Comedy, Commercials, Documentary, Drama, Magazine, Music Competition, Music Best Use, Newscasts and Series. Judges are members of the Television Academy who are professionals working in each respective discipline.

Winners receive cash and a chance to pitch their ideas to agents. Last year’s winner for Best Director in the Drama category recently finished directing an upcoming episode of FOX's House. Julian Higgins also got to spend last summer shadowing the show's high-profile executive producer and Emmy Award-winning director, Greg Yaitanes.
