Combining time travel with explosions, guns and hit men is one way to guarantee a movie trailer tons of attention. Looper has all of the above, plus Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis as added value! It’s a story of time travel, but it’s more a matter of life and death than anything else.
In the futuristic portion of the trailer, time travel is not only developed but it’s used frequently as a method of erasing people by criminal organizations. Rather than killing someone in the present and having to worry about getting rid of the body and all that other inconvenient nonsense, the assassins just head back 30 years in time and wait for their victim to join them. As soon as they do, they are shot to death in their past. Not only is there no mess; it’s like these people never really existed.
The film, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt, is set to hit theaters in September. What do you think?
