How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor will receive the inaugural Maui Film Festival Triple Threat Award. The newly-minted award honors a talented man or woman who juggles at least three major roles in the creation of a feature length film - writer, director, actor, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, composer, and editor.
“With his new film Liberal Arts, Josh Radnor has ensured his triple threat status as a writer, director, and actor and proven himself more than worthy of being the first recipient of the inaugural Maui Film Festival Triple Threat Award,” director Barry Rivers said in a statement.
Radnor will receive the award at a special ceremony held on June 13, the opening night of the 2012 Maui Film Festival. A screening of Liberal Arts will follow the ceremony. Zac Efron, Elizabeth Olsen, Richard Jenkins, Allison Janney, and Elizabeth Reaser also star in the film.
Josh Radnor, 37, is perhaps best known for playing Ted Mosby on the hit CBS series How I Met Your Mother. He has also starred or appeared in ER, Six Feet Under, Judging Amy, Law and Order, and The Court.
The Maui Film Festival takes place June 13-17 at the Wailea Resort in Maui. Since its inception in 2000, the Maui Film Festival has featured more than 500 narrative and documentary length and short films from around the world to a diverse audience of industry luminaries, filmmakers, cineastes, and movie lovers of all ages.
