One famous celebrity’s 24-year-old daughter waited in line for who knows how long for a chance to prove she’s got talent too. Typically, you hear about people taking the easy way to fame because their parents are famous, but Jim Carrey’s daughter hit the American Idol auditions to prove she had talent, and that she could do it without daddy’s help!
Jane Carrey revealed her dad’s identity in her pre-audition interview, and then waited her turn to sing in front of Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler. She sang Bonnie Raitt’s “Something to Talk About,” and though she wasn’t mind-blowingly awesome, she was pretty good. The judges gave her a chance to come back and sing in front of them again.
"It’s difficult growing up in a shadow trying to find your way," said Jane. "I feel like there is all this pressure to make it, but better ... I am here to just make my place in the world."
Though he wasn’t there to support her, Jim Carrey did let the world know just how talented he thinks Jane is over the phone. After getting a thumbs up from the judges, she gave dear-old-dad a call with Ryan Seacrest standing by.
"She’s so wonderful; she’s amazing I can’t wait for the world to understand what she has. Way to go. Oh my god this is going to be an exciting year," said Jim Carrey of his daughter.
He obviously has high hopes for his little girl, but what do you think? Does Jane have what it takes? We want your opinion below!
