Saturday Night Live returns for its 38th season on September 15th & they’ve announced hosts and musical guests for three of the upcoming shows.
The premiere will be hosted by
Family Guy creator
Seth MacFarlane, who is hosting SNL for the first time. The musical guest will be R&B artist
Frank Ocean.
On the September 22nd show,
Joseph Gordon-Levitt will appear with musical group Mumford & Sons. It’s Gordon-Levitt’s second appearance on the show. Current James Bond
Daniel Craig and UK musical act Muse have been announced for October 6th. While this is Craig’s first appearance, he’ll be the second Bond to appear on the show. The first was Pierce Brosnan during the 90s.
This season does come with some challenges:
Jason Sudeikis, who has been tapped to play Mitt Romney in skits, has not yet confirmed whether he’ll be staying on the show.
Kristen Wiig and
Andy Samberg are both leaving, but will be back for guests spots.
Since it’s an election year, SNL will also be bringing back Thursday night episodes of Weekend Update. The show will premiere on September 20th. Seth Meyers will return as the host. Guest appearances by departing SNLers Andy Samberg and Kristin Wiig are expected.
