Betty White has earned a boatload of distinctions over the years. And, StarCam just learned of another one: Betty White is the first person to be nominated for Emmys in six different decades.
This year, Betty scored a nomination in the category Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program for her work on geriatric prank show Betty White's Off Their Rockers. Previous nominations include a supporting actress nod for her work on Hot in Cleveland and for her 2010 hosting duties on Saturday Night Live (she was also the oldest person to host the show). Betty White has received, over the years, 20 Emmy nominations. She has won seven times. She's the only person who has received an Emmy in every female comedy category.
Betty's other notable Emmy nominations include her 1983 nomination for Best Game Show Host. She became the first woman to win the award, for her short-lived game show Just Men! In addition to the Emmys, she's won Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globes, MTV Movie Awards and a handful of honorary distinctions. In 2011, she was given an honorary degree from Washington State University's veterinary school for her work with animals. She was made an honorary forest ranger in 2010; she said this award fulfilled a lifelong dream.
We talked to Betty White at TV Land's Night with Iconic Actresses in May. She told us about some of the amazing women she's had the chance to work with, and what she likes about the male guest stars on Hot in Cleveland.
