This week as we watched Charlie Sheen make his way through his media storm, launch a record setting twitter account and have his sons removed from his custody, CBS was still trying to decide what to do with the hit show Two and Half Men.

Les Moonves came out and said it wasn’t hurting them financially to have cancelled the remaining eight episodes, but he gave no indication what the future holds for the show. There was even a rumor earlier in the week that Moonves approached John Stamos to join the cast as a new character replacing Charlie Sheen.

Stamos denied the rumor tweeting, "Contrary to the rumors, i am not replacing charlie sheen on two and half men. However, martin sheen has asked me to be his son."

With all this uncertainty, perhaps the powers that be at CBS and Warner Bros. should take a cue from the recent TV Guide poll asking fans if the show should just be cancelled. TV Guide posed the question “Would you rather see the show cancelled than to have the embattled star return?”

More the 20,000 fans responded and 51% of them said that CBS should just cancel the program rather then bring Sheen back after this week’s increasingly odd behavior. If the show were to return for a 9th season, 30% of the respondents would prefer to see John Stamos join the cast as a replacement for Charlie Sheen. Less than 20% want the show to return with Sheen.

Sheen is demanding a raise to return to the show. He is insisting on being paid $3 million an episode.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the show.
