September means premieres of new TV shows and the returns of your favorites. Set the DVR, because next week is going to be a full one. A few of the shows we’re looking forward to:

Sunday at midnight, Robot Chicken kicks off its sixth season with a star-studded DC Comics special. The special will have guest appearances by Megan Fox, Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillian and Alfred Molina. Many more celebrity guests are scheduled for episodes throughout the sixth season.

Go On, starring Matthew Perry, premieres September 11th at 9 pm. Perry plays a radio sportscaster who is returning to work and participating in group therapy after the death of his wife. Critics are praising the show for Perry’s performance, the characters’ strong chemistry with one another, the emotional heft of the topic, and the occasional Community-style hijinks.

The New Normal premieres September 11th at 9:30 pm. The show has already been banned in Utah for featuring a gay couple who wish to adopt a child. Advance reviews indicate that the couple’s relationship is portrayed with a chasteness more suited to 1950s sit com couples, but, that the jokes are funny and the actors good in their roles.

Sons of Anarchy returns September 11th. Season five brings important new characters including a new nemesis played by Lost’s Harold Perrineau and a Latin gang member played by Jimmy Smits.

The X Factor returns to U.S. television on September 12th. Britney Spears and Demi Lovato join the show as judges and mentors to aspiring pop stars. 

Guys with Kids premieres September 12th. The premise is pretty self-explanatory: three guys in New York share the trials and tribulations of having kids. Jimmy Fallon produces this traditional three-camera sitcom, and promises that there won’t be a laugh track.

Glee returns on September 13th at 9. The show will divide the action between New York, where two of last year's graduates now live and McKinley, where those still at school will be joined by new students.
