Starcam’s Jennifer Tapiero caught up with comedian Dane Cook at the premiere of Jerry Lewis: Method to the Madness. She got the scoop on where we might be spotting Dane in the near future and what he’s learned from Jerry Lewis!
Dane Cook has appeared in movies and obviously stand-ups, but this year he's bringing the hysterics to television. According to the actor/comedian, he’s been working on a little something with NBC!
“We’re putting a show together, and that’ll be a comedy unless it’s not funny and then it’s gonna be a drama,” he joked. Dane loves new challenges, so it’s no surprise that he’s branching out into new opportunities. He told Jen that he loves anything that involves taking chances and risks. This ambition is one of the reasons he looks up to Jerry Lewis.
“He’s a huge influence on me and my comedy career,” he said. Jerry Lewis has done everything from comedy to acting and from producing to directing.
“He took a lot of risks. He really committed to whatever it was, whether it was humanitarian efforts; you got everything from the heart,” said Dane. “Whether it was comedy, broad comedy, duo with Dean Martin, solo stuff, film, television, he’s done it all…He’s the high watermark right there.”
