
Season two of the A&E police procedural hit The Glades was released on DVD on July 10th. As a tribute to the show's fun and relaxing feel, we give to you a selection of our favorite orange-based cocktails.
Perfect Sangria
Tone the drink down on a very hot day by lightening the mix with a bit of plain seltzer.
1 bottle red wine
1/2 gallon orange juice
1/2 pint brandy or sherry
sliced fruit: include oranges, lemons, peaches, strawberries and others
cinnamon, to taste
Soak the fruit in the brandy or sherry in a large pitcher overnight. Add wine and orange juice, stir. Add a small sprinkling of cinnamon to each glass.
Mimosa
Everyone's favorite part of brunch.
1 part champagne
1 part orange juice
Combine gently, then pour into a champagne flute.
Screwed Sake
A new twist on a favorite cocktail.
1 part dry sake
2 parts orange juice
Shake with ice. Strain into a glass.
Andaluz
According to Food.com, you can also make this with half orange juice and half plain seltzer.
1 1/2 shots dry sherry
1 cup orange juice
Shake well with ice, then strain into a glass. Garnish with an orange slice.
