More news on the celebrity fragrance front. Rocker Jon Bon Jovi has partnered with Avon to promote a new fragrance – Unplugged. The 50-year-old rocker will star in ads for both Unplugged for Her and Unplugged for Him.
So why did Avon choose Bon Jovi? According to the Associated Press, the company was inspired by the special feeling one gets when listening to a favorite song. And who better to represent that “emotional connection” than the musician behind such hits as "Livin’ on a Prayer" and "Keep the Faith?" Bon Jovi and Avon also reportedly admire each other’s dedication to philanthropy.
Unplugged for Her, “a floral oriental perfume,” will be available online and via Avon representatives this October. The male version of the fragrance, “a woody floral musk fragrance,” will be available a month later.
Born John Francis Bongiovi, Jr., Bon Jovi has released thirteen albums – two solo and ten with his band. The albums have so far sold over 130 million copies worldwide.
Honest question: has anyone out there purchased a fragrance specifically because a celebrity endorsed it?
