Aching to know what Dumb & Dumber 2 will be about? According to director Bobby Farrelly, the sequel to 1994’s Dumb & Dumber will follow Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas in their search for a long-lost son.
“The story revolves around the fact that one of them may have sired a child,” Farrelly told Digital Spy. “They want to go and find the child because he's having a kidney problem and he wants to ask him for one of his kidneys.”
Original Dumber & Dumber stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are on board for the sequel which will take place around 20 years after the first film. However, two decades haven’t made Harry (Daniels) and Lloyd (Carey) any smarter.
“I can tell you that there is no growth out of either one of them,” Farrelly said. “They're still basically children at heart.”
Shooting for the Dumb and Dumber sequel will reportedly begin once Daniels is free of his Newsroom commitments. If everything goes as planned, Dumb & Dumber 2 will hit theaters sometime next year.
