Lady Gaga’s fashion sense never ceases to amaze me. While I wouldn’t put her on either of Mr. Blackwell’s lists I will give her credit for being daring with her fashion choices. She’s proven time and time again that it’s fashion over function.
Take for example her choice of shoes. She is big fan of shoe designer Noritaka Tatehana. Platforms are a big element in Tatehana’s work, but not really practical.
Gaga was wearing $6,500 platforms designed by Tatehana when she tumbled walking through London’s Heathrow Airport a while ago. The platforms were super outrageously high and apparently hard to walk in.
Well, Lady Gaga was spotted recently getting out of a car in Milan. She was donned all in black wearing a rather revealing dress and very sculptural shoes with no heels. They feature six inch platforms that only support the ball of her feet. The backs zip up over her heel forcing her to put all the weight in her toes.
That just sounds uncomfortable. But then this is Lady Gaga. I’m not sure comfort is in her vocabulary. I only hope she doesn’t get caught taking another face plant, especially wearing a low cut dress with high leg slit too.
