Anne Rice, the author behind such vampire classics as Interview with the Vampire and The Queen of the Damned, will be a Spotlight Guest at Comic Con New York. Rice is one of many celebrity guests who will participate in the four-day event taking place October 11 – 14.
"New York Comic Con is in the book publishing capital of the world, and so it is only right that we should announce a celebrated author as one of our Spotlight Guests right out the gate," Lance Fensterman, Group Vice President and Show Manager for New York Comic Con, said in a statement.
"Anne Rice is a legendary writer who perfectly combines pop culture celebrity with literary credibility, and we are proud to have her leading the way for us in the literary community in 2012.”
The author of over 20 novels, Rice, now 70, is perhaps best known for The Vampire Chronicles, a series of books following a vampire named Lestat. Anne’s books have sold over 100 million copies around the world, making her one of the most popular authors in recent American history.
