Anyone out there with a heart felt bad for American Idol contestant Jermaine Jones, the shows 6-foot, 8-inch gentle giant, when he shared a story about his family life with producers and the American people. He basically said his dad hadn’t spoken to him in 10 years, but after seeing him on TV called him out of nowhere to try to finagle his way back into Jermaine’s life.
You’re probably thinking, “What a horrible thing to do to your child,” but it was actually the gentle giant who was doing something pretty terrible. It turns out that his father has not only been a part of his life, but he also had dinner with Jermaine several times last week and was sitting in the audience supporting his son at the show!
Imagine being dear old dad, supporting your son and doing everything you can to be there for him and then watching that child bash your parenting and role in their life over the last decade! That definitely can’t feel very good. It’s also safe to say that the American people who voted for him and supported him, as well as the show’s production team, are feeling pretty duped right about now.
