will.i.am is known as part of the Black Eyed Peas, but to many children and young adults he's much more than that. His foundation, i.am angel, has given new hope to a community that didn't have a lot of the privileges that other kids in more fortunate areas are exposed to.
His foundation works to give these children and young adults the chance to brighten their futures and not just settle for their current circumstances. They raised $5 million to build a community center with programs to teach children science, mathematics, technology and even college-track courses. He wants to get them on track to graduate high school, move on to college and turn them into successful entrepreneurs.
"I hope none of the kids I send to school only want to do music," he said. "The world doesn't need another musician. They need another Bill Gates. They need another Dean Kamen. They need another Edison. They need another Nikola Tesla."
